Did Adele Sing On SNL?

For the first time in three years, British pop sensation Adele appeared on television again. She was asked as a guest presenter for the American comedy show Saturday Night Live. She especially targeted her own weight loss. And she also thanked Sarah Palin, former Republican vice presidential candidate, for launching her career.

“I know I look really different since you last saw me,” 32-year-old Adele said in her opening monologue. “But because of all the Covid restrictions and the ban on travel, I wasn’t allowed to take a lot of luggage. I could only take half of myself,”she joked. “And this is the half that I have chosen.”

The singer referred to her striking weight loss, which has been a topic of conversation in the British tabloids for months.

Adele also said she found it very special to be a part of the show that made her breakthrough in the United States twelve years ago. “I was the musical guest in 2008 when Sarah Palin was the guest of Tina Fey (an actress who has been imitating the politician on the program for a while, ed.)”

“Of course a few million people watched the program. The rest is history. Look, I don’t know about American politics. I am British, you know? And I don’t want to say anything that is too political? So I’ll stick with this: Sarah Palin, honey, thanks for everything! ”

Previously, Adele already indicated how exciting she was to host the show this time. It felt like the right time to her. “Because if there was ever a time for all of us to throw ourselves in the deep end and hope for the best, it’s 2020, right?”
